A 24-year old Female Student at the Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Adamawa State, Jamima Shetima Balami, has reportedly committed suicide.
Balami, a National Diploma II student of Mass Communication and was about to complete her Industrial Training (IT) at Adamawa Television (ATV) in Yola.
The young lady, a native of Garkida Gombi, was said to have been found dead at her residence in Vinikilang in the Girei Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that Balami ingested a substance suspected to be rat poison.
It was rumoured that the deceased boyfriend, a university lecturer had called it quits with her, and that was adjudged to be a contributing factor to her decision to take her own life.
Balami's father was said to reported the matter to the police.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, while confirming the incident, explained that the matter had been reported in two different versions, but the police have promised to investigate the matter thoroughly to determine the true cause of the young woman’s death.
