Chief Executive Officer of tech company OpenAI(creators of the popular ChatGPT)Sam Altman, has married his longtime gay partner, software engineer Oliver Mulherin, in a seaside ceremony. 38 year old Altman confirmed the news of his nuptials after the wedding photos(including screen shots from Altman's private Instagram account) began circulating on social media. The photos show the couple(whose primary residence is San Francisco) surrounded by palm trees and about a dozen guests at an undisclosed tropical beach location.

A leading figure of the AI boom, Sam Altman first came out as gay at the age of 17, while in high school. His public reveal happened after some students objected to a National Coming Out Day speaker. Altman was in a relationship with Loopt co-founder, Nick Sivo, for nine years; they broke up shortly after the company was acquired in 2012. Altman and Oliver Mulherin who maintain a relatively private relationship, made one of their first public appearances in 2023 when the OpenAI CEO brought Mulherin to a White House dinner.
