Veteran Actor Dejumo Lewis Dies at 80

 Veteran Nollywood actor Dejumo Lewis, has passed away at the age of 80. News of his death was announced by colleague, Saidi Balogun on his official social media page on the morning of Saturday 23rd December, 2023. Sharing a photo of the deceased, Saidi Balogun wrote: "Good Night Dejumo Lewis, may your soul rest in perfect peace. RIP.” Although it is unconfirmed if Dejumo Lewis died of natural causes, other Nollywood stars have taken to their various social media platforms to mourn the veteran's passing.

 Dejumo Lewis was famous for his role as "Kabiyesi" in The Village Headmaster, Nigeria’s longest running television soap opera(he also doubled as producer of the series) broadcast on NTA from 1968 to 1988. The soap opera also starred now deceased actors, Justus Esiri and Femi Robinson. In addition to his most acclaimed role in The Village Headmaster, the deceased actor starred in other series like: "A Place in the Stars”, "Crossroads" and "Power of 1".
