Singer Mayorkun Vows to Never Again Perform in Calabar Over Theft of Personal Item

Singer and songwriter Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, known professionally as Mayorkun, has in a series of cryptic post put up on his official social media account, vowed to never again have a music performance in Calabar, capital city of Cross River state. The singer made the vow as a result of the theft of an undisclosed personal belonging which occurred during his performance on Monday 18th December. Expressing his disappointment, the music artist stated: "CALABAR, You’ll probably NEVER EVER see me again, good luck to the other artistes coming for your festivals tho.”

Reacting to Mayorkun's post, colleague Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk better known as Iyanya, who is himself a native of Cross River state, implored his fellow tribesmen to return the stolen item. Promising a personal compensation to whomever returned the undisclosed stolen item, Iyanya asked that the item be taken to The Grand Hotel.  The singer also urged his "Calabar people" to show hospitality towards musicians visiting the state.
