Nigerian singer and record label boss Azeez Fashola better known as Naira Marley, has demanded a public apology from Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, on alleged grounds of defamation and libel. In a letter addressed to Iyabo Ojo via the the singer's solicitors, accused the actress of posting false and malicious assumptions against the singer on her Instagram page, which have been read by countless internet users across the world.

The letter further listed an Instagram post published in September 2023, where Iyabo accused Naira Marley of dealing with deceased singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, spiritually and physically, an allegation shared by popular gist blog, Instablog. Naira Marley's solicitors demanded that the actress publish an apology on her official Instagram account and in a national daily within 7 days of receiving the letter. The solicitors threatened that failure to comply with the request contained in the letter would result in a demand for compensatory damages in the sum of five hundred million naira as well as commencement of legal proceedings without further recourse to the Iyabo Ojo.
