LASG Dismounts Gates Mounted by Private Lekki Residents

The Lagos State Government has dismounted some closed inner road gates mounted by some residents of Lekki, Lagos. According to LASG, the gates were taken down because they were in disruption of the state's envisioned aesthetics as well as in a bid to facilitate the Lagos State master plan. Some of the streets and roads affected by the dismounting exercise include: Theopilus Oji, Osaro Isokpan, Abike Sulaiman, Ben Okagbue MBA, Olubunmi Rotimi, Olanrewaju Ninalowo, Dele Adedeji, Abayomi Sonuga, Siji Soetan and Rasheed Alaba Williams.

Addressing the seemingly sudden take down exercise, the Lagos State Commissioner for Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the state government will restore the aesthetics being defaced by the indiscriminate gates by removing them across the state. He also urged all residents associations that have such gates in their estates or communities and always putting them under permanent lock and keys to remove them voluntarily.
