The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has impounded 78 trucks in the Apapa-Ijora area of the state over indiscriminate parking. In a press statement posted on its official social media handle, LASTMA revealed that an enforcement exercise on indiscriminate parking commenced on Sunday 17th December, 2023 between the hours of 12 and 7:00am. The post further stated that the container-laden trucks were impounded by LASTMA officers in coalition with relevant security agencies in order to ensure smooth and seamless traffic for Lagosians during this festive season and beyond. The agency further assured that the enforcement exercise will remain continuous with zero tolerance to indiscriminate parking and impediments in the axis.

LASTMA's Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Mr Adebayo Taofiq, who signed the press statement, called on motorists to take possession of the road and not hesitate to inform LASTMA of any broken down or abandoned trailer/truck via the agency's hotlines
