EPL Game Abandoned As Luton Team Captain Tom Lockyer Collapses On The Field In Match Between Luton Town And Bournemouth

 The England Premier League match between Bournemouth and Luton was suspended after Luton captain Tom Lockyer collapsed on the pitch.


Lockyer went down off the ball midway through the second half at the Vitality Stadium and was attended to by medics on the field before he was eventually stretchered off the field to applause from all sides of the ground, with the players also taken off the field.


Central Referee, Simon Hooper in the wake of the incident officially called the game off.


A Premier League statement said: "The match between Bournemouth and Luton has been abandoned due to a player medical incident.


"Our thoughts are with Tom Lockyer and all players involved in today’s match."


The scores of the game was 1-1 the incident, with Dominic Solanke cancelling out Elijah Adebayo's opener just prior to the incident.

The defender was attended to by paramedics and staff in the second half, with the clock paused at 65 minutes.


He was then removed from the field of play on a stretcher surrounded by the medical team, with a standing ovation from the crowd.
