The Dangote Refinery has received its first crude cargo totalling 1 million barrels of Agbami crude grade from multinational company, Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Ltd (STASCO. The 1 million barrels represent the first phase of the 6 million barrels of crude to be supplied to Dangote Refinery to sustain the initial 350,000 barrels per day to be processed by the facility. The next five cargoes will be supplied by NNPC and ExxonMobil. This supply will facilitate the initial run of the refinery as well as kick-start the production of diesel, aviation fuel and LPG before subsequently progressing
Announcing the development, management of the refinery(which is reportedly the world's largest single train refinery) stated that the crude cargo will play a great role in alleviating fuel supply challenges faced by Nigerians as well as other west African countries. At full operational capacity, The Dangote Refinery will produce: Diesel, AGO, PMS Jet A1, Dual Purpose Kerosene, amongst others. The refinery is also expected an annual revenue of at least, $27 billion, at full operational capacity.
