Police Arrest Drunk Man For Shooting His Friend Over Disagreement In Adamawa

 The police in Adamawa State have arrested a 45-Year-Old Man identified as Wawe Nokomari, for allegedly shooting his friend, Ham Musa.


The incident it was gathered, occurred on November 7 in Jabi community of Shelleng Local Government Area, with Musa critically injured.



Adamawa Police spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said Wawe Nokomari. who is a father of eight, had consumed a popular locally brewed gin known as “burkutu” as well as sweeti and mafia before shooting his friend while they were working on a rice farm.


It was gathered that the two men who were both drunk, had a misunderstanding that resulted in the shooting.


Nokomari was reported to have borrowed from a vigilante the gun with which he used to shoot his friend, Musa.


Fortunately for Musa, he is is currently receiving medical treatment and is said to be in a stable condition.

The Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, in his reaction to the incident, has ordered the state Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.


Nguroje disclosed that the Adamawa CP has ordered the arrest of the vigilante who lent his gun to the suspect.


The Police Command promised to make sure the suspect was brought to justice and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.


“The Suspect has confessed to the crime and expressed remorse for his actions. He also pledged to abstain from drinking alcohol in the future,” Nguroje added.
