The Agency deduced that the blind peddler had been oblivious to the contents of the bag handed to him to deliver in Kano. Further investigation led to the arrest of  leader of the syndicate, Bello Abubakar, another blind 45 year old who confessed to have started the illicit drug dealing 5 years ago. Bello jointly ran the business with his equally blind brother, 49 year old Muktar Abubakar who also lived in Lagos with his three wives and 14 children. The arrest of the three blind drug peddlers is one in a series of drug busts made by the NDLEA within the week in various parts of the country
