The Guiness World Records (GWR) has debunked the insinuations that intending record breakers have to wait a year before setting a new record.
There were reports that before the record body certify a new attempt, one has to wait a year after the certification of a previous record.

"What about the rules of not applying until a year"
To which GWR responded:
"That was just a rumour, records can be broken anytime"
