Abacha Loot;French Government Set to Return $150 Million

 The French Government has informed the Nigerian government of its decision to return $150 million of the late Military Head of State General Sani Abacha's, seemingly inexhaustible loot. France Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, who's currently  visiting Nigeria, informed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of her government's intending refund of the loot after following due legal process. In the last 24 years, the total sum of looted Abacha funds recovered from different parts of the world, has reached an estimated 3.65 billion dollars.

Catherine Colonna revealed that the recovered loot will be returned to Nigeria in the form of grants and discussion will soon be opened with the Nigerian government on where to invest the funds. While visiting the presidential villa in Abuja, the French minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, extended president Bola Ahmed Tinubu an invitation to the forthcoming Paris Peace Forum and conveyed the goodwill of President Emmanuel Macron. While stating that there are over a hundred French companies conducting business in Nigeria, Catherine Colonna expressed her county's readiness to expand mutually beneficial collaboration with Nigeria across various sectors.
