A boat carrying over 100 passengers has capsized in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, with a large number of its passengers missing.
Reports say the boat capsized in the Binneri community of Karim Lamido midway through River Benue on Saturday evening, October 28, 2023 after it was returning from a fish market in the Mayoreneyo community of Ardo-Kola LGA of the state.
None of the passengers were said to have wore life jackets.

The Taraba State Police Command spokesman
Spokesman, Abdullahi Usman, while confirming the incident to journalists on Sunday, refused to give the accident casualty figure.
A source in the area, Mister Jessy Danladi narrated to Channels Television three bodies were recovered few minutes after the capsize.
He said twelve others were thereafter recovered by fishermen in the area.
He disclosed that the boat was returning from a fish market in the Mayoreneyo community of the Ardo-Kola Local Government Area before the incident took place 50 minutes after take off.
Acting Chairman of Inland Water Transporters in the state, Jidda Mayorenero, while also confirming the incident, said 15 bodies have been recovered so far.
