Victor Boniface Nominated For Bundesliga Player Of The Month Award

 

The German Bundesliga has nominated Nigerian forward Victor Boniface for both Player and Rookie of the Month honors for August.

For the award, Boniface will compete against Harry Kane and Alphonse Davies of Bayern Munich, Jonas Wind of Wolfsburg, Kevin Behrens of Union Berlin, and Benjamin Henrichs of RB Leipzig.

Boniface, who transferred from Union Saint-Gilloise to Bayer Leverkusen, has had a successful start to the current season.

The 22-year-old scored two goals and provided one assist in two appearances for Leverkusen in August.

Additionally, the striker is vying for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month honor.

The other nominees for that honor are RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons and Nigerian-born goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.

His outstanding performance earned him his first international call-up for the Super Eagles' match against Sao Tome & Principe in the Sunday Afcon qualifiers.
