The Trade Union Congress, TUC has announced that it will not partake in the nationwide warning strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), scheduled for Tuesday.
TUC's President, Comrade Festus Osifo after meeting with Labour Minister Simon Lalong, urged the NLC to intensify dialogue with the government.
“As of today, the need to embark on a nationwide strike hasn’t arisen hence the leadership of congress should intensify the conversation with government so that all grey areas identified could be ironed out within the time frame given”.

The NLC had boycotted a scheduled meeting with the Federal government, insisting on the warning strike planned for tomorrow.
The Federal government had invited the Labour unions to discuss issues around the proposed two-day warning strike slated to begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
The meeting convened by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, had appealed to the organised labour to selve the impending strike.
