The Lagos State National and State House of Assembly Election Petition tribunal sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State, has reportedly annulled the February 25, 2023 election of Labour Party (LP) Lawmaker, Thaddeus Attah as the Representative of the Eti Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State. The news of this annulment was announced on Twitter by the APC's candidate, Ibrahim Obanikoro. Thaddeus Attah had been announced winner by The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after he defeated Bankole Wellington (Banky W) of the PDP and Babajide Obanikoro of the APC. Attah won the election with a total 24,075 votes while the People's Democratic Party’s Banky W came second with 18,666 votes. Ibrahim Obanikoro of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared third place with 16,901 votes.
The tribunal reportedly declared Mr Attah's win inconclusive and has ordered that supplementary elections be conducted by INEC. The court also demanded that the electoral commission withdraws Mr Thaddeus Atta's certificate of return. Reacting to this development, the PDP's candidate, musician and actor turned pastor and politician Bankole Wellington better known as Banky W, posted a message on Twitter with the words: "It is possible, still".

In the elections of February 25, many had expected Banky W to emerge winner and had been shocked to hear Thaddeus Atta declared winner. Reacting to the news, Mr Atta posted that there was no cause for alarm as he hadn't been sacked. He stated that the tribunal only ordered a rerun at the 32 units where the elections did not hold.
