"We Have Neither Reconsidered nor Suspended the Protest" NLC Assures Nigerians

 Following viral tweets and opinions from Nigerians on social media calling out the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) on its tendency to often suspend intending strike actions or protests after "closed door" meetings and deliberation with the Federal Government, the Congress has given a press release assuring Nigerians of its commitment towards the nationwide protest set to commence on Wednesday 2nd August, 2023.

In the press release, President of The Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Joe Ajaero, assured Nigerians that the outcome of a meeting with the federal government which took place on the morning of Tuesday 1st August, did not change the NLC's decision to embark on a nationwide protest. The NLC president urged Nigerians to "ignore the work of fifth columnists who are working hard against the wish of the people". He also implored Nigerians to gather in their respective states on Wednesday 2nd August, in order to "give vent to this collective resolve".
