Real Madrid FC legend, Marcelo was sent off the pitch last night in a deserving manner after he accidentally broke the leg of his opponent, Luciano Sanchez who plays for Argentino Juniors while Marcelo plays for Fluminense, his boyhood club.
Footage of the incident shows that Marcelo did not intentionally inflict the injury on Sanchez who made an inroad into the direction Marcelo had cut the ball towards to dispossess the Brazilian superstar.
Marcelo having cut the ball rightward, aimed to guard the ball against Sanchez outstretched legs and then, unknowingly stepped on his leg.
Marcelo sensing the degree of the injury, waved at the referee to suspend play. He was deservedly sent off.
Marcelo would through his social media handle, apologize for the regrettable incident while praying for Sanchez's quick recovering.
Medical examination reveals that Sanchez has suffered dislocation in his left knee.
