It was indeed dramatic at the National Assembly Complex gate today as angry National Labour Congress (NLC) members took their August 2nd slated protest to the National Assembly.
With the shout of "ole", thief or thieves when translated, echoed in the air, the visibly angry protesters shook the gate of the National Assembly Complex angrily and tenaciously until the gate crashed helplessly to the ground.
Shout of joy rented the air over the fallen gate which granted the protesters the needed access to the National Assembly Complex.
The Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and other sister agencies, had slated a nationwide protest against the questionable economic policies of the current Nigeria's leadership.
The executive arm of Nigeria's government headed by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu had removed the age long fuel subsidy that sapped the nation's treasury until the outset of his administration on May 29th, 2023.
The consequences of the fuel subsidy include but not limited to increase in the price of fuel pump across the country and corollary economic hardship.
