Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze better known as Aki, has in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on an episode of the talkshow With Chude, revealed his struggles with his mental hope. Chinedu Ikedieze who is one half of the dynamic Aki and Pawpaw duo, who gained fame in the film industry for their comic roles. Chinedu Ikedieze while speaking with Chinedu stated that because of his diminutive stature which occurred as a result of dwarfism, he struggled with suicidal thoughts.

The actor admitted in the interview that he wanted to terminate his life when he realised he wasn't developing as other kids did and that he was being bullied by friends, classmates, and even members of his family. He jocularly stated that he was grateful not to have grown up in Lagos as the Third Mainland Bridge was nearby. In his words: "Thank God I no grow up for Lagos o! Third Mainland Bridge no far o." Chinedu Ikedieze also expressed gratitude to his parents for their support even though he never really had the typical mother-child bond with his mother.
