General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, while speaking to his congregation on the night of Friday 11th August, at the ongoing RCCG 2023 National Convention tagged, “Beyond Expectations", taking place at the Redemption Camp, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, urged his congregation to ask that God should kill him before sunrise if he truly consults demonic or satanic forces for powers. The clergyman sadly revealed that he initially decided against addressing the rumours but changed his mind during one of his prayer sessions.

On the other hand, Pastor Adeboye who gave a second part of the prayers to his congregation, asked them to pray to God to increase his power by sevenfold if it was determined that the spiritual powers held by the general overseer, were truly God given. In the words of Pastor Adeboye when he raised the prayer requests: "I want you to call on God that if Pastor Adeboye is contacting the devil one way or the other, if there are any connections between him and forces of darkness, kill him before the sun rises so that he doesn't spoil your name; so that he doesn't lead several people to hell. Thenbyou add to that prayer, 'Say Father, but if this boy is using your power and your power alone, then multiply that power sevenfold'."
