A pastor resident in Anambra state identified as Prosper Obum Igboke has taken his own life after he was reportedly jilted by his lover. 30 year old Pastor Prosper had jumped to death from a two storey building in Nnewi after he received news that the girlfriend whom he had sponsored through university had jilted him for another man. A relative of the now deceased pastor who hailed from Leru Community located in Umunneochi Local Government Area ofAbia state, had been buried in a forest as it was considered a "sacrilege" to take one's life.

The identity of the lover who had allegedly caused pastor Igboke to take his life remains unknown to the public. However, close friends and relatives of the deceased have expressed disbelief at his action saying that they never expected the pastor to be as emotionally distraught to the point of taking his life.
