Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a "couple" Kingsley Onyebuchi Ilonzeh and Roseline Nonyelum Ilonzeh at Terminal one of the Murtala Muhammed Airport on their way to India supposedly to receive medical treatment. The agency disclosed that that the couple ingested 184 wraps of cocaine weighing 3.322 kilogrammes, with 100 grammes of the drug also concealed in the woman’s private part. Upon arrest, further investigation revealed that the two drug peddlers had been pretending to be a married couple and had also attempted leaving the country with passports and travel documents procured under fake names. The arrested suspect claiming to be Kingsley Onyebuchi Ilonzeh was in actual fact named Uwaezuoke Ikenna Christian and the woman Roseline Nonyelum Ilonzeh pretending to be his wife had her real name as Nkechi Ngogbike.

The woman now confirmed as 35 year old Nkechi Ngogbike, confessed to being a widow who formed an alliance with her partner in crime for the purpose of executing their illegal deal. She told the NDLEA operatives her arranged husband, Kingsley, brought the pellets of cocaine to her in her room to ingest in the hotel, where they were both lodged in separate rooms the previous day, Monday, July 31st. She also confessed that she had been promised Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) upon successful delivery of the drug to India. In his own confessional statement, Kingsley, who was in the clothing business in Onitsha, Anambra state, claimed he had been promised the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) after successful delivery of the drug to India. Kingsley excreted a total of 82 wraps of cocaine with a gross weight of 1.822 kg in five excretions while Roseline aka Nkechi Ngogbike excreted 101 wraps in four excretions with a bid-size wrap of the substance recovered from her private part, all weighing 1.50 kg.
