Nigerians have given mixed reactions to the appointment of Naira Marley by the agency. With many declaring it hilarious and others blatantly accusing the agency of indirectly supporting drug use via their choice of campaign ambassador. Naira Marley is well known for promoting negative vices like alcoholism, sexual promiscuity and drug use through the lyrics of his song. The musician is also considered originator and father of the "Marlian Movement", a manner of gangster living popular amongst youths. Ardent followers of Naira Marley's gangster lifestyle advocacy refer to themselves as Marlians.
