Man Wounds Vendor who Refused to Sell Akara on "Credit"

A man identified as Jafaar Lukman has been remanded and awaiting judgement at a correctional facility in Kano state until 4th September 2023. According to witness reports, the defendant had caused severe bodily harm to the son of a pap and beancake(akara) seller named  Jamila Mai-Kosa, because the woman had refused to release the edibles to Jafaar without payment. The defendant had approached the stall with the intention of taking the pap and akara on credit but met with denial because he had already incurred previous debt. The refusal had angered Jafaar and in a fit of rage, he had swiftly kicked and overturned the pap, akara and unmade bean paste used in the business. The oil being used in the frying had splashed upon  impact and caused injury to the vendor's son.

Jafaar Lukman had been promptly seized by irate onlookers. A Sharia Court presided by the Khadi, Malam Usman Haruna Usman had ordered that Jafaar be remanded at a correctional center until September 4, after he pled guilty to the charges levelled against him. In his plea for leniency, Jafaar told the court that he had been hungry and angry when he destroyed the pap seller's wares.
