A 33 year old seamstress identified as Rofiat Okewola, has been murdered by her husband after she accused him of sleeping with another woman in Ogun state. According to eyewitness reports, victim's unnamed husband who is a mechanic, had dragged her outdoors and repeatedly slammed her head against the wall after she walked in on him having sex with his lover in an apartment located in the Sango Ota area of Ogun state. At the time of the incident Rofiat and her husband had maintained a matrimonial home in Lagos state. Rofiat who ran a tailoring shop located in Adalemo, Lagos, had been the chief whip of the tailors association in the neighbourhood.

Following the vicious manner in which he slammed his wife against the wall, onlookers had nabbed Rofiat's husband as he attempted to flee the scene. The angry mob condemned his action, stressing that he could have simply sent his wife packing instead of killing her. He was subsequently taken away by men of the Sango-Ota Divisional Headquarters led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO). It is currently unknown what befell the culprit's mistress after her lover was apprehended.
