Grandfather Sells One Day Old Granddaughter to Baby Factory

 Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested a man identified as Peter Monday Chukwuka, for the sale of his one day old granddaughter. According to reports from operatives who apprehended the suspect, Mr Peter Monday sold his newborn grandchild for the sum of 700,000 naira. The suspect further explained in detail, how he took the day  old baby from her mother, Sarah Chukwuka(who happened to be the suspect's teenage daughter ) and travelled to Abia State, where he sold the child to the owner of a baby factory located at Obehi, Okwa West area of Abia State for the previously stated sum of N700,000. Monday Chukwuka said he decided to sell the baby because he couldn't afford to take care of his teenage daughter and the baby, so he used the money he collected from selling the baby to rent a shop and buy goods in it.

Parading the suspect before the press,  spokesperson of the Oyo State Command, Adewale Osifeso, said Monday was arrested in his hideout in Ibafo area of Ogun State following credible intelligence report. Chukwuka's teenage daughter Sarah said she had been unaware of her father's intention to sell the baby, adding that her dad only told her that he wanted to give the baby to someone to nurture for two years. Osifeso also told the press that investigation extended to Abia state which led to the raid of a baby factory where four female suspects were apprehended in connection with the crime of baby trafficking. Osifeso narrated that bundles of new birth certificates and some equipment for child delivery were recovered from the factory and the suspects at the time of apprehension, were unable to give satisfactory explanation on the parentage of the babies discovered in said factory.
