Following the ruckus that ensued after American rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus, professionally referred to Cardi B, threw her microphone at a concertgoer in July, reports confirm that the microphone has been sold for $99,000 on the e-commerce website, eBay. The microphone had been thrown by Cardi B at a concertgoer and overenthusiastic fan in retaliation after said fan flung a cup of water at the rapper in excitement.

The microphone was on Tuesday 8th August 2023, sold at an auction block by Scott Fisher, the owner of an audio equipment hire company. Fisher, who spoke with CBS News said proceeds from the sale will go to three charities; the veterans' charity, the Wounded Warrior Project, and Friendship Circle Las Vegas, a programme that connects young volunteers with people with disabilities and special needs. The businessman also stated with certainty that the sold microphone had indeed been the one used by Cardi B at the concert which held at a nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada. In Scott Fisher's words: "You could see white tape on the Cardi B mic in all the videos, and that is how we knew which mic was hers."
