American singer Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari have reportedly split one year after they tied the knot. According to sources, the couple is heading for divorce as a result of cheating accusations. Sam had reportedly confronted Britney for "stepping out on him", a fight had ensued and led to Sam moving out of their shared home. Further sources say that the marriage has been troubled since a few months after the wedding as Sam was spotted without his wedding ring at the time. In April 2022, just two months before the wedding, Britney had suffered a miscarriage.

Often referred to as the "Princess of Pop", In 2004, Britney Spears first married childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later, following a petition to the court that stated that Spears "lacked understanding of her actions". The singer's second marriage to dancer Kevin Federline which took place shortly after her split from Jason, produced two sons and in 2006, Britney Spears filed for divorce from Federline, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized in July 2007, when the two reached a global settlement and agreed to share joint custody of their sons.
Britney married Sam Asghari a fitness trainer 12 years her junior, on June 9 2022 at her home in Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles after they met in 2016. Spears's first husband, Jason Alexander, attempted to crash the wedding by breaking into her home, armed with a knife, but was arrested. The marriage is Sam's Asghari's first and the couple signed a prenuptial agreement to protect Spears' fortune, estimated at approximately $60 million as of June 2022.
