Aisha Yesufu Reacts To Nomination Of Datti-Ahmed's Baze University VC As Minister By President Tinubu

Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls Movement and Human Rights Activist, Aisha Yesufu, has reacted to the nomination of Baze University's Vice Chancellor, Professor Tahir Mamman.

Baze University is a tertiary institution founded by Datti-Ahmed, the Labour Party Vice Presidential Candidate.

Aisha Yesufu is incidentally a fervent supporter of the Labour Party Candidate, Peter Obi and Datti Ahmed his deputy.

Yesufu while responding to a journalist who said Labour Party (LP) supporters should be pleased with the ministerial nomination of Professor Mamman, said even though he's qualified for the role, the rule of law must hold sway.

Journalist Gimba Kakande had shared a post on Twitter about the two ministerial nominees from Datti’s University, in the process predicting that Mamman might head the Ministry of Education, but added that Bosun Tijani may also lead the Ministry of Science & Technology or the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

He wrote:

“Baze University’s Tahir Mamman and CcHUB’s Bosun Tijani stand out on this second #ministeriallist. They are exceptional brains in education administration and digital tech development, respectively, based on their antecedents.

“My prediction? Mamman would head the Ministry of Education, and Bosun might lead either the Ministry of Science & Technology or the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.

“On a lighter note, Obidients should be pleased that the Vice Chancellor of their vice-presidential candidate’s school has been offered a seat at the table”

Aisha Yesufu in her reaction affirmed that Mamman and Bosun are assets to Nigeria and any government, but the issue isn’t about sitting at the table.

She asserted that the main issue is about the integrity of the process and the rule of law.

In her words:

“My brother. These are wonderful people that are great assets to Nigeria and any government that has them definitely has assets but you see, the issue is not about seat at the table. The issue is about the integrity of a process and the rule of law. Otherwise, how can we have the moral justification to question anyone who subvert a system to get whatever result they want?”
