Following the attempted assassination and attack on founder and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleiman and his convoy in October 20222, the police have apprehended three members of the seven-man gag responsible for the attack. The assassination attempt of the General Overseer which took place on the Benin-Auchi express road, resulted in the murder of six persons, with three of the slain victims being policemen.

In an open interrogation shared by Channels Television, one of the apprehended assassins identified as Yusuf Ismail Isa, revealed to the police and pressmen that the attack on the clergyman had Indeed been an assassination attempt. The apprehended assassin however stated that he had not be privy to the reason for the ordered hit on Apostle Johnson Suleiman, as he had only been obeying instructions from superior members of the gang. Yusuf Ismail Isa also admitted to have been the first person who opened fire on the clergyman and his convoy. Apostle Johnson Suleiman had escaped the assassination attempt as a result of being driven in a bulletproof vehicle.
Speaking to the press while parading the 32 year old suspect in Abuja, Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said operatives of the Intelligence Rapid Team arrested Isah following intensive investigation. He also revealed that five AK 47 assault rifles, two K2 assault rifles, and 180 live ammunition were recovered from the suspect.
