Video shows moment a Village chief was flogged by his subject for diverting money meant for well construction
A Twitter user@Realolaudah shared a stunning video of justice system of an unnamed African community.
In the video which is embedded below, a community chief said to have embezzled funds meant for constructing wells for his rural community, was punished by his subject in a strange but interesting manner.
He was tied to a tree and thereafter flogged by his subjects while he groaned and confessed his sins in singsong.
Nigerians have suggested that such a way to public public office holders for embezzlement should be adopted to checkmate reports of incessant embezzlement of funds by public office holders in Nigeria.
"A village chief being whipped by his people for stealing money meant for construction of wells. A just reward for corruption & dishonesty you may agree. Is our criminal justice system too lenient in issues of corruption, or do we resort to these traditional methods of penance?" The Twitter wrote alongside the video
