In a rather bizarre turn of events, a toddler accidentally shot himself at a caregiver’s home in Las Vegas over the weekend. According to reports, two year old Jaiangelis Stevenson had fatally shot himself while being babysat by a close family member who doubled as a caregiver during his mother's working hours. After the self shooting, the toddler was taken to the University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Officers of The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 5300 block of East Craig Road near North Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada after reports of a shooting inside an apartment. Arriving officers found a two-year-old boy who had accidentally shot himself. The child had tragically discharged the firearm while in the confines of a bedroom around 6:30 p.m on Sunday July 9, 2023. According Metro, an investigation by Abuse and Neglect detectives is still ongoing. The devastating accident has left the family and community grappling with sorrow and grief, the deceased child's aunt, Paris Box, disclosed.
