Tragedy struck in Ogbogbo in the Ijebu-North East area of Ogun State as six persons were said to have died after taking alcohol served by their friend.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday, at a bar joint where seven friends gathered together to drink.
A source told PUNCH that all the six persons who drank the alcohol died except the person who offered them the alcohol as he did not drink it but took it home.

The friend who served the alcohol and the deceased persons were said to have engaged in a hot argument, but, was later settled.
The source who spoke to PUNCH said the server of the alcohol had offered to donate a bottle of alcohol as part of reconciliation moves after the argument.
He was said to have gone home and brought the drink which was drunk by all the six friends except him.
The source further noted that after some hours after the friends had departed to their various destinations, two of the friends died with four others hospitalised.
The other four persons were said to have died the following day while the man who offered them the alcohol was reported to have fled over the incident.
In the words of the source:
“It was later at that night that the news started breaking that those who drank from the alcohol have started dying while some of them were rushed to the hospital.
“Six people have been announced dead as of the time of speaking to you. The whereabouts of the man who brought the alcohol is yet to be known.”
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola while confirming the incident.
Odutola, refused to disclose the number of affected persons.
In her words:
“I just confirmed something like that occurred but the families said they are not pressing charges and prefer to bury their dead.”
