Osun State Police Arrests Spiritual Cow

Men of the anti-cultism unit of the Osun State Police Command have arrested a cow allegedly meant for the July 7th (7/7) Cultists Day celebration in Osogbo, the state capital. According to reports, residents of the Egbatedo area of the state where the celebration was scheduled to take place, had informed the police as soon as the members of the cult gathered to begin the annual Cultist Day Celebration.

The cow set aside for the celebration had been inscribed with the word "Oroki" as well as a marked axe symbol.  Upon sighting the police, the intending celebrants had abandoned the cow and fled in different directions. The police had immediately bundled up the cow and "arrested" it. Spokesperson of the command, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident with these words: After intelligence revealed plans by a particular cult to celebrate the 7/7 festival, the CP ordered operatives to ensure that the plan by these cultists fail. The operatives, working in line with that directive, combed every part of the state and went to Egbatedo, a suburb of Osogbo. When the suspects saw them, they fled but the cow they planned to use for the celebration was seized. We want to assure people of the state that the command will continue to work hard to keep the state very safe.”
