The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that the force will be investigating and possibly prosecuting skitmaker Abdulgafar Abiola better known as Cute Abiola, over the disrespectful and unlawful use of police uniforms in his videos posted on social media on 20th and 24th July respectively. The Force labelled the skitmaker's use of police uniforms in his videos "contemptuous" and "criminal".

In a statement released today July 27, spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the skits in question ‘’show a highly disrespectful and derogatory portrayal of the police uniform, an action that is in direct violation of Section 251 of the Criminal Code and Section 133 of the Penal Code Law''. Adejobi further emphasized that such acts are not only offensive but also undermine the integrity and dignity of the men and women who wear the uniform in service to the nation. The Police spokesperson also stated that skitmakers and filmmakers have been repeatedly warned to desist from desecrating the police uniform and its accoutrements.
