A man identified as Mohammed Jubrin, has been arrested by the Borno police for the murder of his 6 year old son. Until his arrest, Mohammed Jubrin had worked with the Federal Fire Service in Maiduguri. Father of the arrested murderer had reportedly called the police to inform them that Mohammed had killed his grandson by repeatedly hitting the child's head against the wall because he had been angry at the child's frequent bedwetting. The six year old had been confirmed dead on arrival at the State Specialist Hospital.

Bulama Lawan, Ward Head of Wulari, who confirmed the tragedy, said the incident happened on 27th June. He also confirmed receiving an emergency call from Mohammed Jubrin's father who turned his son in by telling the police that Mohammed had "killed his grandson". Bulama Lawan also revealed that investigation proved that the murderer, Mohammed Jubrin had been in full possession of his mental abilities and had never suffered any form of mental illness. The Ward Head assured all concerned parties that the murderer will face the full wrath of the law.
