Gunmen suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) were caught on camera brutalising a primary school teacher and some pupils in school for violating the sit at home ordered by the group.
An IPOB faction led by Simon Ekpa had in protest against the continued incarceration of the group's leader, Nnamdi Kanu ordered a sit-at home in all South East States.

The gunmen were said to have stormed a school in Enugu West area of Enugu state to carry out the directive.
The teacher alongside the pupils were said to have been beaten by members of the group. In a viral video, a man was heard asking, “why did you people come out today that you know is sit-at-home” as the pupils and teacher were being flogged.
The pupils responded in tears that they were writing exams.
