Ozioma Okposo, widow of the deceased Gospel singer Sammie Okposo, took to her social media platform to pen fond memories of her husband who passed away on 25th November 2022. The singer's widow who mentioned that it would have been their 13th wedding anniversary, wished her late husband a happy anniversary while also declaring that she missed him terribly. Ozioma Okposo in the heartfelt post, wished that her late husband whom she described as her king, was still alive and could celebrate their anniversary together in the way they used to as the day brought back memories.

Before his sudden death on the morning of Friday, 25 November 2022, Sammie Okposo had been the recipient of public backlash and condemnation after he confessed to cheating on his wife. Okposo had issued a public apology to his wife, Ozioma, via his Instagram page on 24 January 2022, following the public revelation of his infidelity. The apology came a day after a lady, known only as African Doll, accused him of impregnating and abandoning her. Okposo had told his fans and the public that he would be taking a step back from his ministry to focus on restoration and seek forgiveness. He initially deactivated his social media handles but restored them a few days later. Not much else was heard of Sammie until the announcement of his sudden death.
