Former Manchester United midfielder, Tom Cleverley, has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33 due to injury issues. The former England international who made 79 appearances for Manchester United before being loaned out to Aston Villa back in the 2014/2015 season missed 29 games in the championship for Watford last season.
“Today, I am announcing my retirement from football as a player. The last year has been immensely difficult trying to overcome the obstacles of injury, Unfortunately, my body has failed me and just hasn’t got the capacity to perform anymore.” said the former Premier League player.

Tom Cleverly who first wore the Manchester United colours at the age of 11 in all, featured for Watford 181 times over a period of six and the half years registering 19 goals and 15 assists.
He played for Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics and made his international debut later that year.
