 The Inter Miami unveiling of 7-time Ballon D'or winner, Lionel Messi has officially become the most-watched football presentation in the world.

The new record by Messi breaks the one set by his rival Cristiano Ronaldo at his Al Nassr unveiling.

 

Christiano Ronaldo joined Al Nassr last winter, signing the most-paid football deal ever with the Saudi Arabian football club.

The whole world stood to a standstill as Ronaldo’s reveal and presentation at MrSool Park in Riyadh was watched by billions, as the Al Nassr presentation featuring the Portuguese forward attracted more than 3 billion viewers worldwide.

However, the new unveiling of Lionel Messi at the MLS club has set a new standard, beating Ronaldo’s Al Nassr presentation by over 500 million viewers and garnering 3.5 billion views, albeit with fewer social media followers than the Portuguese player.

Inter Miami is now the most followed sports team in the US (on Instagram), with a six-fold rise in followers from 1 million to 6 million.
