After an amazing 20-year career with 849 appearances, 253 assists, 148 goals and 17 trophies, former Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Monaco, Como and Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas is saying goodbye to the beautiful game as a player and will immediately take up coaching assignment with Serie B team Como 1907
Fabregas who featured for Spain 110 times was part of the set up that won two back to back European Championships and the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.
"I will cherish every moment, from the early days at Barcelona, Arsenal, back at the Blaugrana, Chelsea, Monaco and finally Como. From the World Cup, to the European Championships, victories in England, Spain, winning European trophies: it was a trip I will never forget.I've had experiences I never thought I'd even come close to in a million years"
"I'm not sad, because I'm about to start a new path: coaching the B and Primavera team of Como 1907. A club and a project I couldn't be more enthusiastic about. This team won my heart from the first minute, we met at the perfect moment in my career. I will give my all in this new adventure.
"So, after 20 incredible years full of sacrifices, joy and passion, the time has come to say thank you again and say hello to the most beautiful sport in the world.

Fabregas, who was fondly called “The Master” by his former teammate Eden Hazard began his football journey at the age of ten in the year 1997 with Barcelona's La Masia academy.
He then cut the eye of scouts from Arsenal as a young teenager and moved to the London club from 2004 to 2011 making 212 appearances in the Premier League and wining the FA Cup title in the process before he moved back to Barcelona.
After three years at the Nou Camp, he returned to the Premier League and signed with Chelsea in 2014 where he played in 198 games winning the Premier League title twice under Atonio Conte.
He moved to Monaco but couldn’t feature regularly due to a series of injuries and featured in only 68 appearances in three and a half years and made a transfer a to Como where he hung his boots.
