The Kwara State Fire Service has retrieved the body of a 57 year old woman named Sikirat Jamiu, who fell and subsequently died in a domestic well. The victim who was a resident of Ile-Agunko compound Adeta area Ilorin, located in Ilorin West Local Government Area, had gone to fetch water at Ile-Onikoko Compound in Adeta Area, when the unfortunate incident occurred at about 6:42pm on the evening of Monday 19th June, 2023.

Spokesperson of the Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, who confirmed the incident in a statement, said that the brigade was alerted through phone call from a certain Mr. Muhammad Jamiu, a resident of that neighbourhood. Following the call, the service had dispatched firemen who arrived the scene to retrieve Sikirat's corpse. The body was left in custody of a certain Alfa AbdulGaniyu, who was determined to be the dead woman's relative. Speaking to pressmen, Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, expressed sadness over the incident while urging the general public to exercise caution in carrying out their daily activities.
