The heartbroken parents, having heard the news of her supposed death had to purchase a casket for her funeral.

Sources say Rita, a single mother of three, took ill after the death of her lover three years ago, and she enlisted the support of a pastor who prayed with her and promised to help her for a fee of N30,000.

Rita had reported asked for her parent's support but as it was not forthcoming, she allegedly devise a means, wherein she conspired with neighbours to inform the parents that she had died.

The heartbroken parents, after being told of her destiny, rushed to buy a casket to lay her to rest.

They were hence shocked when they arrived with the casket to Rita's house to see her alive.

According to a eye-witness:

“The parents were shocked when they saw their daughter alive.”

Getting to find out about the deception, the disappointed parents were said to be engaged in an altercation with their daughter before neighbours stepped in to broker peace between them.

One of the eyewitnesses said the action by Rita is viewed as a taboo in the area and the casket had to be destroyed before Rita parents took her home with her kids.
