Members of Staff of The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology(OAUSTECH) formerly known as The Ondo State University of Technology (OSUTECH) located in Okitipupa Ondo state, have staged a protest at the universty's main entrance. The ongoing protest which commenced in the early hours of Wednesday 21st June 2023, is to express displeasure over the sack of 35 members of staff(including lecturers) by the university's management. The aggrieved workers who received letters of dismissal on Tuesday 20th June 2023, have vowed to ensure that all academic and non-academic activities in the university come to a halt until all dismissal notices are rescinded and the affected members of staff reinstated. The protesting workers have subsequently prevented all forms of entry and exit within the university's premises.

According to unconfirmed reports, the dismissed members of staff were let go as a result of discriminatory practices by the university's governing council over the local government area these workers hail from. The protesters have stated that the dismissal is unlawful as all of the dismissed workers were issued letters of appointment and went through the appropriate documentation processes before they resumed duty at the university. The governing council of The Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, is yet to give a formal statement or publicly address the grievances expressed by the dismissed members of staff.
