American singer and songwriter Madonna is currently under medical care after she was rushed to the ICU of a New York Hospital a few days ago, after she was found unresponsive. The singer was intubated for at least one night before having the tube removed and according to reports, is now alert and recovering. Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, shared on Instagram on Wednesday June 28, that his client had “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.”

The sudden medical emergency has forced the 64 year old Queen of Pop to postpone her Celebration Tour which had been announced earlier in the year. The planned tour is a commemoration of Madonna's 40th year as a singer and the 84-date global trek was expected to kick off July 15 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Madonna last toured from September 2019 to March 2020 in support of “Madame X.” Her Sticky & Sweet Tour, which ran from August 2008 to September 2009, remains the highest-grossing trek ever by a female artist. Forbeshas named Madonna the annual top-earning female musician 11 times across the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. She has sold over 300 million records worldwide. The Guinness World Records acknowledged her as the bestselling female music artist of all time.
