A Port Harcourt based pastor identified as Chidiebere Okoroafor who's the General Overseer of Altar of Solution and Healing Assembly located in Oyigbo area of the state, has been sentenced to death by a Port Harcourt High Court on multiple charges of murder. Okoroafor stood trial and was convicted for the murder of Orlunma Nwagba, a choirmistress in his church who doubled as his lover. Orlunma had in the course of their dalliance gotten pregnant and had gone on to deliver a daughter named Christabel.

According to prosecution reports, Chidiebere Okoroafor had lured his lover and their 9 month old daughter alongside her friend named Chigozie Ezenwa, to a bush and proceeded to murder the unsuspecting trio. The heinous triple murder had been discovered following alarm raised by Chigozie’s husband over the killing of three people in two different locations in Oyigbo LGA. Investigation had led to Chidiebere Okoroafor's arrest on 17 December, 2017 as Orlunma's neighbours had provided the Rivers State Police Command with information on her relationship with the pastor. After years in remandment, the accused had finally made it to trial in 2023 where he was found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging or lethal injection.
