A police Inspector with the Niger State Police Command, Gbenga Fajuyi, has been sentenced to 22 years in prison at the Minna Correctional Center for the rape of his 13 Year old daughter. Gbenga Fajuyi who sentenced on multiple charges of rape and homicide, raped and subsequently his 13 year old daughter who delivered an infant that was later killed by the police officer. The 47 year old police Inspector had reportedly spent months sleeping with his daughter, an SS1 student of the Government Day Secondary School, Sabon-Wuse.

Gbenga Fajuyi had further threatened to kill the teenager if she ever told anyone of her ordeal. When his dastardly act resulted in a pregnancy and birth of a baby daughter, the paedophile turned murderer and strangled the death. He afterwards abandoned the lifeless baby at a river. Pronouncing judgement on the accused, the court’s presiding senior magistrate, Senior Magistrate Christy Barau, described Gbenga Fajuyi as a monster who, as a law enforcement officer who was supposed to protect the little girl, had ended up ruining the life of his own child. The senior Magistrate sentenced found the accused guilty of multiple count charges of unlawful sexual intercourse, intimidation,incest and murder. The Senior Magistrate sentenced Gbenga Fajuyi to 22 years in prison without the option of fine. The sentence is to run concurrently.
