Some supporters of the president have called out Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for "snobbing" the president. In their words, it was disrespectful of Dr Okonjo-Iweala to take photos in company of other leaders while to do so with her own president. They further argued that ignore Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidency or presence, did not diminish the fact that he remains her president. These netizens "warned" the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation to desist from disrespecting Tinubu as the president's political party, All Progressives Congress was responsible for Dr Okonjo-Iweala's national and international success as a renowned economist and finance expert. These disgruntled netizens further vowed to never support any of Dr Okonjo-Iweala's future aspirations or ambitions in the country.
